Robin Rokey, a long-time Eugene/Springfield area organist and composer died Feb. 6, 2020. Robin served as our Eugene AGO Chapter newsletter editor and publisher, as well as Treasurer, for many years. Serving as organist for Ebbert Memorial Methodist in Springfield for 14 years, until a congenital illness forced him to retire, Robin nevertheless continued to be active in music as a composer. Named Outstanding Musician in 1968 at Thurston High School during his Senior year, Robin went on to publish many compositions, including five self-published collections, and 13 individual pieces appearing in the Organist’s Companion. Robin also worked as an editor, assisting many graduate students at the University of Oregon in preparing their theses.
